The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is a great place for families with children of all ages. Newfields
Newfields is the first public art museum in the state of Indiana. It is a non-profit institution that was founded in 1916 by the Newfields Foundation. The museum holds a permanent collection of over 28,000 pieces of art from around the world, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts.
The museum also provides educational programs for children and adults. Visitors can view some of the works of art from its permanent collection during regular hours or attend one of the many special events that are held throughout the year.
Indianapolis Zoo
The Indianapolis Zoo has a wide range of attractions for visitors of all ages. There are several conservation areas that focus on specific animal groups such as primates or elephants. You can see flamingos wading along a pond or watch penguins slide down an icy slope at Penguin Cove. The Children’s Zoo features hand-fed animals like ducks, goats, and sheep that kids can feed from their hands.
There’s also an area where you can watch sea lions swim underwater through holes in a tank wall made of glass so clear you can barely see it! There are plenty of activities for kids at the Indianapolis Zoo too! Kids can enjoy pony rides around the park or get up close to some animals by feeding them treats from their hands at Petting Pals stations throughout the park.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a historic racetrack and the home of the Indianapolis 500. It’s one of the most famous racetracks in the world, and it’s located just outside Indianapolis. If you’re a racing fan, this is an attraction worth checking out during your visit. Each year, the track hosts more than 200 events, including NASCAR races and IndyCar events.
