New Acura Near Geist and McCordsville, IN

If your address is in McCordsville, Fortville, or the Geist Reservoir area, Ed Martin Acura is the closest Acura dealership to your house. We are at 3800 E 96th St, Indianapolis, on the corner of 96th and Keystone Avenue. You and we sit on the same northern band of the Indianapolis metro, so getting here runs east to west across the top of the city and never takes you into the middle of it.

Acura has very few dealerships across Central Indiana, so how far you are from your dealer matters. Two Acura dealerships cover the entire metro: this one in the north and one south of Indianapolis. The nearest one after those two is in Fort Wayne, about 90 miles northeast. For a one-off test drive, distance barely matters. For the oil changes, tire rotations, and check-ups that come around every year of ownership, it matters a great deal.

Below: what is in the lineup right now, what the drive and the service visits are actually like from this side, and how much of the buying you can finish before you leave the house.

The Towns We Cover Out Here

The Towns We Cover Out Here

McCordsville sits on a three-county corner: McCordsville itself is in Hancock County, Marion County is just west, and Hamilton County is immediately north at Fishers. People here cross those county lines every day, so we serve the whole corner rather than stopping at one of them.

Community ZIP codes
McCordsville 46055
Fortville 46040
Geist 46236
Fishers 46037
Lawrence 46216, 46235

One road ties most of that together, and it changes names as you go. Through McCordsville it is Broadway. Keep going southwest and the same road is called Pendleton Pike as it heads into the city of Lawrence; go the other way and it is Broadway Street through Fortville, then US 36 and State Road 67 on the signs. On the road signs it is State Road 67. Geist Reservoir sits along the north side of that run.

The other road that matters is Mt. Comfort Road, also signed as County Road 600 West, which meets Broadway in the middle of McCordsville. If you live here you already know what happens there: the railroad tracks cross Mt. Comfort Road at street level, with no bridge over or under, and a train at the wrong moment costs you ten minutes. Worth knowing when you are timing a service appointment.

What the Acura Lineup Looks Like From Here

What the Acura Lineup Looks Like From Here

Four Acura models make up the current lineup, and each suits a different kind of household out here.

Model What it is Why it suits life here
MDX The largest Acura, with three rows of seats and the only six-cylinder engine in the range. Front-wheel drive is offered on the base MDX and the Technology versions only; every other version is all-wheel drive Room for a full household and its gear, and the only Acura with a tow rating big enough for a boat and trailer
RDX One size below the MDX. All-wheel drive on every version The everyday choice for a long, all-weather commute
ADX The newest and smallest SUV, with front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive A first Acura, a good first car for a new driver, or the second vehicle in a two-commute household
Integra The sedan of the group, sold in sportier A-Spec and Type S versions The one to look at if you want a car that is fun to drive rather than an SUV

Most households here are families: the schools are the single biggest reason people move to this area, and Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation, whose teams play as the Marauders, is the district most of them are moving for. It shows in the driveways. Three-row SUVs and crossovers outnumber small cars, which is why the MDX is the model we are asked about most often out here. Once a student driver joins the household, it usually turns into a second-vehicle conversation, and that is where the ADX and the Integra come up. All three SUVs, the ADX included, are on our new Acura SUVs page, and the MDX and Integra have listings of their own.

The commute is real, and so is the salt: the average commute in Hancock County runs about 27.6 minutes each way, roughly nine in ten workers make that trip by car, and close to six in ten leave the county for it. More than one in ten leave the house between midnight and 6 a.m., which is the early shift at the warehouses along Mt. Comfort Road showing up in the numbers. Now lay salt season over the top of it, from about the middle of November to the end of March, and an ordinary February drive here is dark and wet, over roads that have been salted morning and night. All-wheel drive is built for exactly that stretch of the calendar: Super Handling All-Wheel Drive on the RDX and on any MDX ordered with it, Intelligent Control on the ADX, sending power to the wheels that still have grip instead of the ones that are spinning.

Geist, a Trailer, and the Months You Actually Use One

Geist, a Trailer, and the Months You Actually Use One

Geist Reservoir was created in 1943 by damming Fall Creek, and at roughly 1,890 acres it is big enough that it is the reason so many households here own a boat and trailer, rather than driving somewhere to use one. The boat ramp on Olio Road is on the McCordsville shore, close enough that launching counts as an errand.

Boating season runs roughly April through October. The trailer sits parked through the winter, which is the same stretch the salt is down, so the boating months and the salted months barely overlap: pull something in the warm months, hold the road in the cold ones.

For a boat and trailer, the MDX is the one to have. With all-wheel drive and a hitch and trailer wiring installed, it is rated to tow up to 5,000 pounds, which covers a family boat on its trailer with room to spare. Choose the front-wheel-drive MDX and the rating steps down to 3,500 pounds. The smaller RDX is rated at 1,500 pounds, which suits a utility trailer rather than a boat. Versions and availability are on the MDX page.

Service That Does Not Cost You the Day

Service That Does Not Cost You the Day

Where an Acura gets maintained matters as much as where you buy it, and a dealership on the far side of the city turns an oil change into a lost afternoon.

Our Accelerated Service is built around the time a visit takes. Instead of one technician working down a list while you wait, a team of Acura-trained technicians works on the vehicle at the same time, using Genuine Acura Parts and Fluids. That is what keeps the whole appointment, multi-point inspection included, to an hour at most. For a household already giving up the better part of an hour a day to the drive, that is the difference between a visit you plan your day around and one you fit into it.

Winter is when service matters most. In a normal year the first snow lands around November 19 and the last around March 30, with roughly 22 inches falling in between and a lot of melting and refreezing after each snow. Rinsing the salt off underneath, brake inspections, tire condition, and wiper and fluid checks all matter more on a vehicle that spends four and a half months driving over salted roads. The other end of the calendar matters too: a vehicle that spent the summer with a trailer on the hitch is worth a look before the weather turns.

Shop, Value Your Trade, and Finance Before You Drive Over

Shop, Value Your Trade, and Finance Before You Drive Over

Most of the decision can happen at your kitchen table before you ever point the car west.

Our Finance Center covers the paperwork side: online pre-approval, a payment calculator, and tools that value your current car and make you a cash offer for it. It also handles lease returns, plus a walkthrough called Unfreeze Your Credit: step-by-step help lifting a credit freeze you set up once and forgot about, so it does not hold up your finance application. Whether your credit is strong or has some marks on it, you are welcome to apply, and settling the numbers in advance is what shortens the visit. If you are coming off a lease, starting that conversation early also keeps the return and the next vehicle from turning into two separate trips.

If a pre-owned vehicle is the better fit, our used inventory goes well beyond Acura, with cars traded in from other brands, luxury and everyday alike, alongside Acura Certified Pre-Owned. Our Acura offers change month to month, and whatever is running now is on our specials page.

Getting Here From McCordsville and Geist

Our address is 3800 E 96th St, Indianapolis, IN 46240, on the northern edge of Marion County where it meets Hamilton County. Locally that area is known as Keystone at the Crossing, the shopping district at 96th and Keystone, and the showroom is right on that corner. Coming from the northeast, the drive stays out along the north side of the city instead of pushing through the middle, which is what matters when the appointment comes before work rather than after it.

Current routing, a map, and the day's service and sales schedule are all on our hours and directions page. Worth a look before you head over, since road work on the routes in from the northeast changes from season to season.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is Ed Martin Acura from McCordsville and Geist?

About 13 miles from McCordsville and about 8 from the Geist Reservoir shore, give or take depending on which street you start from. We are at 3800 E 96th St, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Both McCordsville and Geist sit on the same northern band of the metro we do, so the trip runs east to west across the top of the city and never takes you into the middle of it. Your exact time depends on which street you start from, and the turn-by-turn routing and a map are on our hours and directions page.

Which new Acura models do you have?

The current lineup is the MDX, the RDX, the ADX, and the Integra, the last of these also sold in sportier A-Spec and Type S versions. All the SUVs are on new Acura SUVs, and the MDX and Integra have listings of their own.

Do you serve Fortville, Fishers, and Lawrence too?

Yes. All three are inside the area we sell and service, as is Geist, and a Fortville address gets the same pricing and the same service scheduling as a Fishers one. That goes for new SUVs and for pre-owned vehicles alike.

Can I start financing before I come in?

You can. Pre-approval, a payment calculator, a trade valuation, and lease-return help are all online at our Finance Center, and any current offers worth factoring into the math are listed with our specials.

Do you service Acuras for owners in this area?

We do, and every one of those places is well inside the area we cover, from McCordsville and Fortville across to Geist, Fishers, and Lawrence. When you book, ask about Accelerated Service, the appointment designed to be finished inside an hour. That matters most when you are driving in from the Geist side and would rather wait with the car than make the trip twice.

Is all-wheel drive worth it for winters out here?

For most drivers around McCordsville and Geist, yes. Salted roads are the normal condition from roughly mid-November to the end of March, and a commute that leaves the county puts you on those roads twice a day, often before daylight. Sending power to the wheels that still have grip is what all-wheel drive does. Acura calls the MDX and RDX system Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, and the ADX one Intelligent Control. Line all three up under new Acura SUVs if you want them side by side.

Can an Acura tow a boat to the Geist ramp?

Yes, with the MDX. With all-wheel drive and a hitch and wiring installed, it tows up to 5,000 pounds, which covers a family boat and its trailer; the front-wheel-drive MDX is rated at 3,500 pounds. Boating season runs roughly April through October, so the quiet half of the year is the sensible time to have the hitch seen to, well before the ramp gets busy. Versions and availability are listed on the MDX page.

Which Acura suits a family in the Mt. Vernon school district?

For three rows that means the MDX, with seating and cargo room for children, gear, and a weekend trip in one load. Families adding a student driver often look at the ADX or the Integra as a second vehicle. The best way to choose is to sit in each one, back to back, in the same visit. The MDX, the RDX and the ADX are all grouped on new Acura SUVs, and the Integra has listings of its own.

Do you sell used vehicles as well as new Acuras?

Yes, and the used side carries other brands too, with trade-ins from other brands sitting alongside Acura Certified Pre-Owned vehicles. Everything currently available is on our used vehicle listings.

Where do I find current Acura offers?

Everything running right now is gathered under specials, with the current terms alongside each one. That is the page to check before you do the math.
