For a great tasting meal out with family or friends, we think that Chinese food takes some beating. So whether you’re visiting Indianapolis, Indiana, or are a local looking for somewhere new to try, let us show you our favorite Asian restaurants.

5 Best Spots for Chinese Food in Indianapolis, IN

1. Tian Fu Asian Cuisine

Our first recommendation is well known locally for freshly prepared dishes using quality ingredients that are served by polite, knowledgeable staff. Specializing in modern reworkings of the classic dishes you know and love, this is a highly reliable choice.

Pan-Fried Pork Pot Stickers are one of our favorite appetizers, and there’s a delicious version for vegetarians. Spicy Crispy Chicken from the specials menu is excellent, or if you’re feeling like seafood, we suggest the Szechwan Hot Boiled Fish.

2. China Garden Restaurant

This is a wonderful family-orientated destination that offers both eat-in and take-out. The staff is exceptionally welcoming, and you’ll feel like an old friend whether you’re visiting for the first time or the hundredth.

Hot and Sour Soup is a great way to judge a restaurant, and the bowl you’ll find here is first-class. After we’re done with enjoying that, we like to go with the Mongolian Beef with its spicy hot Hai Xian sauce.

3. Taste Restaurant

Next, we have a restaurant often described as offering the most authentic dishes in the area. Dim Sum is outstanding here, and we enjoy making a tasty meal with a wide variety of these small dishes in particular.

Staff will happily explain the options and guide you to selections that you will enjoy. Dishes like the Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Minced Beef Rice Noodle Roll, Shrimp Dumplings, and Shrimp Siu Mai are just amongst our many favorites here.

4. Oriental Inn

This classic oriental restaurant has been a locals favorite for over 35 years and is a great value and highly reliable choice. There are excellent lunch offers here, so if you’re looking for a quick yet tasty mid-day meal, this is a great choice.

At dinner, we usually start with the Crab Rangoons and Egg Rolls. The main dishes like Sesame Chicken are full of flavor and always seem to use excellent quality meat. Although the service is friendly and quick, it can get busy, so it’s a good idea to book ahead.

5. House of Cheung

As our final recommendation, this restaurant is a beautifully decorated and welcoming family-owned establishment that carefully presents all the classic dishes.

The atmosphere is lively, and the prices are very reasonable. All our top choices like the Roast Pork with Broccoli or Sweet and Sour Chicken are beautifully presented and wonderfully tasty. Additionally, an often overlooked, there is an excellent selection of desserts here to finish your meal perfectly.
