2023 Acura MDX
If you are looking for that next three-row luxury family SUV, look no further than the 2023 Acura MDX. This SUV has what you want with sporty handling, an elegant ride, loads of cargo, and cabin space. Here are all the best features people love about the 2023 Acura MDX.
Trim Levels
For 2023, Acura offers six trims for the MDX: MDX, Technology, A-Spec, Advance, Type S, and Type S Advance. The entry-level MDX roll downs the road on 19-inch wheels and is equipped with a panoramic sunroof. The Technology sits atop 20-inch wheels and features power-folding outside mirrors. Opting for the A-Spec adds a sportier exterior on top of the Technology features. With the Advance, upgrades include roof rails and a hands-free liftgate. Finally, the Type S and Type S Advance get you front-end styling elements specific to the Type S, along with 21-inch wheels.
Engine
Two different engines are available for the 2023 Acura MDX, depending on which trim you select. If you choose the MDX, Technology, A-Spec, or Advance, you get a 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This combination pushes out 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. Going for the sportier, upscale Type S or Type S Advance gets you a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 that makes 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Acura is well known for its performance, and the MDX delivers the performance-enhancing features drivers love. The standard powertrain for the two lower trims, MDX and Technology, is a front-wheel drive (FWD), while an all-wheel drive (AWD) is available. The upper trims include the all-wheel drive standard, allowing you to tackle various weather and road conditions.
The maximum towing capacity for the FWD versions is 3,500 pounds, while the AWD can pull 5,000 pounds, allowing you to bring a trailer of extra gear or some toys on your next adventure. The sportier Type S and Type S Advance add Brembo brakes and an adaptive air sport-tuned suspension.
Interior
Very well-equipped from the entry level, the 2023 Acura MDX seamlessly blends convenience, luxury, and comfort. Starting with the base MDX, you get tri-zone climate control, simulated leather upholstery, a wireless charging pad, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a nine-speaker audio system. You also get a 12.3-inch central display with a touchpad controller, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and USB ports in the first and second rows. Moving up to the Technology gets you upgrades like leather upholstery, passenger seat memory controls, interior ambient lighting, a navigation system, a 12-speaker ELS sound system, and rear window shades.
Moving up to the A-Spec adds ventilated front seats, a cabin intercom system, a 16-speaker ELS premium audio system, and suede seat inserts. Upgrading to the Advance gets you heated second-row seats, upgraded front seats with leather upholstery, a second-row household outlet, third-row USB ports, and a heated steering wheel. Finally, the Type S Advance adds upgraded front massaging seats and a 25-speaker ELS sound system.
Safety Features
Among the standard safety features for the 2023 Acura MDX are lane-keeping assist, forward collision mitigation, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Upper-level trims add a head-up display and a surround-view camera. Finally, the advanced airbag system will help protect you in a collision.
